After joining a group with Isla we combined ideas and found we were looking at the same genre of music. The Indie Folk genre is very wide spread and after listening to a variety of songs and discussing ideas we decided to follow through on Isla's original idea with the song from Birdy's 'Wings'.
We decided on this song because it's very open to ideas and can be interpreted in a number of ways.
The original music video above has no narrative and is entirely performance based which we are going to change in our video. The fast paced editing allows the audience to gain insight into the location and join in with the chaos of the scenes. This allows them to feel involved and enjoy it as if they were present. There is loads of people surrounding Birdy which helps gain a wider target audience. However the many close up camera shots of Birdy allow the audience to connect and feel the emotions dismissing the other characters. High key lighting has been used to attract the audiences attention. Scenes of fire and fairy lights draw the audience in making is catch their eyes and focus. We are looking to have a more slow pace, low key music video containing minimal people to allow the audience to fully interact with our characters. I think this will help get the message of the lyrics across.
